The wheel posture (Urdhva Dhanurasana) is one of my favourite postures in Yoga. It has helped me a lot to overcome my chronic back pain.
It is a perfect posture to strengthen and lengthen the vertebrae, by increasing flexibility of the spine and the hips to keep them active and healthy. It is also very efficient to strengthen the arms, shoulders, chest and legs. With this pose, you send oxygen into your rib cage. You can expect to release your stress, depression and anxiety through the stimulation of the thyroid and pituitary glands.
Wheel Pose energizes you and helps you to reconnect with the universe by stimulating all seven of the chakras. You open your heart to the universe, so it may also help to heal past hurts, while allowing love to come into your life. Read more
